Instead of sending holiday cards to clients and friends in December, our London-based sister agency Syzygy came up with an idea for a creative illustration that depicts 20 notable events from the past 12 months. Syzygy then asked people to name the 20 viral topics, which has spurred a flurry of online activity to the tune of 2 million Twitter impressions and 500,000 Facebook impressions. As a reward to participants, Syzygy gave away 150 posters of the illustration to people who correctly guessed some of the events. The task was to create an illustration that would be not only a beautiful piece of art but also a puzzler.

Started of with great amount of research work in terms of style and events, orignal digitaly painted image in huge resolution of 15,000px in wide was created in 5 weeks time including loads of concepting and sketches round at the begining.
